As Managing Director of Advocacy at SIGNAL, Jeff Markey leverages the complementary expertise of our practices to drive client initiatives from inception to success. For Jeff, integration is paramount. To advance our clients’ goals, we have to engage as an extension of their team. It’s the key to how we influence policy, inspire opinion, and drive action.
Since 2003, Jeff has worked across the SIGNAL client base to advance its growth into a multi-faceted firm with three diverse business units and a collaborative core. In addition to guiding high level strategy for SIGNAL, his hands-on approach makes him a key figure in managing a large number of SIGNAL’s transportation, energy, and public sector clients.
Prior to joining SIGNAL, Jeff’s role as Deputy Chief of Staff to Doc Hastings (R-WA), Legislative Director to former Congressman Jack Metcalf (R-WA) and his experience with Senator John Seymour (R-CA) and the Bureau of Political Military Affairs at the U.S. Department of State helped shape him into the dexterous policy strategist behind many of our clients’ successes.
Jeff earned his master’s degree in International Affairs from American University, is a graduate of the United States Air Force Air Command and Staff College and holds a bachelor’s degree from The Catholic University of America. He credits his experience growing up in Rough and Ready, CA and raising three children with his wife Kate, for providing him a valuable and grounded perspective for anything he might encounter on the Hill.
