A holistic outlook and sound judgment contribute to Kimberly Olson Dorgan ’s skillful management of SIGNAL’s successful public affairs and communications offering. As Managing Director, she ensures that we embrace the full spectrum of a client’s goals to deliver what have become essential for any legislative effort in Washington: fully integrated solutions and comprehensive forward-planning.
Kim’s mastery of messaging and public affairs are a product of her 16-year tenure as Senior Executive Vice President of Public Policy for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) and experience in the financial services and telecom industries. Her influence at ACLI involved the development of multiple global public policy initiatives and broad legislative reform agendas, as well as astute brand and reputation management.
As founder of a private, independent government relations consultancy, Kim represented a number of high-visibility clients including America’s Public Television Stations, Sesame Street Workshop, and the National Captioning Institute. With expertise in advocacy and legislative strategy, and relationships on Capitol Hill, Kim has honed her ability to deliver success in real time while always staying ahead of the curve.
Kim’s accolades extend beyond her work at SIGNAL. She serves as a dedicated board member for Transamerica Corporation and the Bipartisan Policy Center Advocacy Network, and as a member of the Advisory Council for the Stanford Center on Longevity. Kimberly holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in History from Washington State University. When she’s not developing playbooks for our clients, Kim’s affinity for sports keeps her competitive spirit sated, while traveling ensures that her worldview always stays in tune.
