Issue: Transportation Authority
Expand the capacity of a large public transportation authority to reach a greater portion of regional citizens, by exploring opportunities for additional funding tools.
Our Government Relations team collaborated with transit authority officials to develop and execute a federal agenda that included developing relationships with Administration and Congressional stakeholders.
In 2015, SIGNAL helped the transit authority receive a $1.3 billion federal loan under the DOT’s TIFIA loan program. In addition to being the largest single TIFIA loan to a transit agency in the country, it was TIFIA’s third largest loan historically and has increased the transit authority’s financial capacity by an estimated $200-$300 million.
